As an admin, you have access to all the expense reports employees have submitted. If the employee entered any incorrect expense details, you can send the expense report back to the employees for correction. Employees can edit incorrect expense details, then resubmit the report for approval.
To send back an expense report for correction, select the Expense reports tab in the left side panel then select the All business reports page in the drop-down. You can send back submitted and approved expense reports.
Note: Closed expense reports can’t be sent back to employees.
Select the expense report you’d like to send back in the list on the page. Once you’re on the View report page, select the three dots icon near the Approve as admin button.
Select the Send back button in the drop-down list.
In the Send report back pop-up enter the reason for sending the report back. This reason is shared with employees and allows them to make the appropriate corrections.
Select the Send back button to proceed.
The status of the expense report will change to sent back and the reason you provided will be shown as a comment in the report.
The employee will be notified by email that you’ve sent the report back. Employees can view the reason and make the necessary changes, then resubmit the expense report for approval.
